Since we’ve been in our South Boston office, we’ve been making the trek up the street to our favorite lunch spot – American Provisions. When the owners decided to open a wine bar next door, they reached out for some branding help. A few charcuterie boards later Gray’s Hall was born.

At the corner of fresh and familiar.

The branding aimed to feel inviting and familiar, with a hint of nostalgia in the typeface and initial caps for the name—like the name of a friend’s place you’ve been to time and again, but a wine bar in Southie with some incredible branding.

A new natural meeting place.

The wine bar’s building was to be located in the old Gray’s Hall, the former meeting place of the South Boston Citizens’ Association. When naming the new neighborhood haunt, the old building name seemed like the perfect fit. After all, there’s no better place for communities to gather than on opposite sides of a glass of wine.
